I notice he's got a full page ad in the Driveline. Is the stuff okay and how's he to deal with? Also, what about the O ring'd calipers? I've always used the other 'uns with good results.

Re: Experience with Precision Engineering's calipe
I put "0" ring, aluminum pistons in my 70, over 10 years ago. Still work great. At that time I bought them from Zero tolerance.(ZTI) Thats who developed them, and later they were picked up by one of the larger venders. Maybe someone will chime in.- Top

Re: Experience with Precision Engineering's calipe
I bought a set of calipers from them for my '67. They provided me with a set of all original casting#'s at no extra cost. I didn't put many miles on the car after installing them, so I can't say much about them. They were painted semi-gloss black which is what I wanted. The bolts, however that held the halves together were cadmium-dichromate. I should have asked them if they could have provided black finish bolts. I did have trouble with one of the bleeder valves, which wouldn't stop leaking when shut, but I suppose that could happen from any supplier. They exchanged the problem caliper without argument. Hope that helps...- Top

Re: Experience with Precision Engineering's calipe
About 6 years ago I puchased the O-rings and pistons from them to rebuild my calipers on my '69 to eliminate an air pumping problem. My calipers were already sleeved and I constantly had to bleed the rears to get the air out. Rebuilt the calipers in about 2 hours and re-installed and bled them and never had to touch them since. Excellent experience.

Re: Experience with Precision Engineering's calipe
Very similar experience as Rob's post. I purchased front's only, and one of the PE-supplied bleeders was very difficult to seal closed. (Replaced them with speed bleeders, eventually.) Had a leaker about 2 years after purchase that was replaced under warranty. Seems like the o-ring configuration presents more rolling resistance than the lip sealed style.- Top

Re: Experience with Precision Engineering's calipe
Purchased a set last year. I had some inital problems with one piston leaking and a front hose seal, but they replaces no charge (it will cost you shipping to them). I also has some problems with bleaders leaking, but with opening and clsoing several times they seated themselves. Very easy to deal with. When I finally got ti together no more problems.- Top
