Dist Cam Delco Remy # 1957873

Need a replacement cam for a distributor #1110914 dated O L 7.
Current cam has 122 CCW on it.
Will a Delco Remy 1957873 Cam with 532 stamped on it serve as a replacement? What is its original use? Dimensionally appears the same except extra material below the point cam surface. Was told it was for a 65 FI distributor?

(14 dist used cam PN 1941232. '65FI dist 1111070 used 1935632 cam, also used in 1110874 and 1111069 dist. '914 is set for 10-12 degrees (24 crank) of centrifugal advance, 070 dist is set for 11-13 degrees of advance (26 crank) so if you modified the height to fit, it should be a servicable replacement.

Can someone confirm this Delco Remy cam is a 65 FI distributor part?

Well, if you have a 1957873 cam, the '68 Chevy parts book lists it as being used in the '914 distributor ONLY, not used in any of the later FI distributors, nor in any of the non-FI applications. However, the '65 parts book gives a part number of 1941232 for the '914 distributor, which would make the 1957873 part a service replacement . I'm sorry if I misread your earlier post. The '65 FI cam is shared with the 365 hp carbureted engine distributors and is part number 1935632, which was very common and used in a variety of pass car and Corvette applications.

Yes, I do have a new Delco Remy 1957873 cam I bought 15-20 years ago. It is slightly different than the original but did appear to be interchangeable.
