C2 Headlight Bezels

Did GM use the same headlight bezel for all models 1963-1972?
AIM P/N 5955492-3? Can not tell the difference between them. They all look alike to me.

No, There were at least 3 versions in 63. The first had no upper screw at all. It was held in by a clip. Then there was a front screw version and a side screw version. Most of those have a larger and longer flange across the top part. I Then in 64 when they went to the aluminum buckets the shape is changed again along the top rail and the screw hole is on the side.

Would GM models like Nova, Corvair, Chevelle and Corvette of the same year use the same headlight bezel?

I can tell you that I've gotten correct bezels for my '65 from passenger cars of the same vintage (in junkyards naturally...) Also the individual housing shells.

OK, I think the wires are crossed here. Are you refering to the headlight capsule rings or the HL Bezels?

The 63 cups are different the 64-67 are the same. Phil 8063

But are they the same cups as used in other GM cars like Nova's , Chevelles, Impala's etc?

Even though Ralph had other ideas, I am more interested in going down the path you took on bezels.

Do you have an idea on the build date break points for the three '63 variations? I have always wondered why mine were such a poor fit. With upper screw holes in both the front and side, my current bezels are no doubt service replacements. Front screws are in place but do not seem to have original looking fitment. There seems to be no evidence of side brackets.

Which style would you expect to see in a March 20th car?

Yes the same was used across Chevrolet lines.
