Off Topic HD motorcycle electric start

Which new HD Motorcycles have electric start. I only got part way into the HD web site and saw no reference to this feature. You can email if you are a closet rider. Thank you for your indulgence and my bad manners in asking here.

I don't have intricate knowledge of all the new ones, but believe all Harley's have electric start, most have electronic fuel injection. There is no way one co-worker who is about 5'2" and weighs about 110 and rides a big Harley with lowered seat so her feet will reach the ground could kick start a Harley. She rode a Harley Sportster before this one.

Geoffrey, All streetable new Harleys come standard with a electric starter. I've riden Harleys for almost 40 years and would have quit a long time ago if I had to still "kick em" to start. Have a good and Happy New Year...Ken

The 10 Y/O boy next door has a new pocket rocket 49CC 2 cycle with a electric start!!!! So H/D HAS to have one.

                IMHO...

It was the advent of the electric start Honda M/C that forced H-D to kick it up a notch or two w/electric start and no more automatic oil leaks.

Frankly, I would prefer they retained a back-up kick starter - just in case. If your battery gets weak or your starter takes a dump in B-F Montana, push starting that thing is going to be an ugly experience.

So far I've been lucky with my Hog. Love that thing...

on my new HD, if the battery gets weak you will find your ass pushing the dam thing real fast.

Lyndon, If you think push starting an HD with a weak battery is work, try push starting a VW bug by yourself. You just put the shifter in second gear, step outside the car, hold the clutch down with your right foot, grip the wheel and push the car using the left foot. When the car gets to a roll, pop the clutch, car starts, jump in and go. It really works (most of the time)!

If your HD is a fuel injected model and you have a dead battery, you can push it till the cows come home but you still won't get it started.

That's what we did with the '64 'vette with 327 back in the 70's! And the old K-model HD. Yeah, the VW, too.

Still do it on occasion with the '37 2N Ford.

                            No

but I toyed with the idea of getting my wife a Sportster for Christmas.
