    Bob -

Probably the easiest harness in the car to replace; just lay it out next to the old one and route/clip/connect it the same way as you remove the old one. Pay close attention to the connections at the starter - you can fry things if you get that one wrong. Disconnect the battery first.

Turn your Caps Lock key off - your posts are hard to read, and Caps are considered as shouting.

      Bob,

The harness will be quite stiff when you get it. Lay it in place for a few days next to your original one. Also, don't throw away the plastic ties that hold the harness to the inner fenders. The repro's don't fit tightly in the hole like the original ones. Have you thought about using your original wire harness with the connector on the new one, if that's possible? You'd be much better off using as much of your original wiring harness as possible. Just some thoughts...Good Luck..

        Rob,
According to LectricLimited, they state that old wiring is old wiring, including NOS wiring. It breaks down just sitting on the shelf, so if you follow their claim you wouldn't want to replace just the connectors.

I noticed while driving the other night,(engine running poorly @ higher rpm's) the amp gauge indicated the system to be discharging, dash lights dim.......engine (pop's & sputters on acceleration).....when the amp gauge indicated the system to be in a charging mode, dash lights are not dim....engine runs great..(the engine braking down on acceleration has been a problem I have been chasing for some time but never related it to the harness)..seems that the bad harness connection at the firewall is causing problems....I moved the right harness connection(the one with the broken ear) & the engine died & the car lost all power...i.e. lights, etc.. I hope the problem goes away with the new harness...if not I could be looking at a new v.regulator..B

Bob, I have a '67, 427400, and have been chasing the same engine problem you described for a couple of years now. Breaking down on @ higher rpm's but once in awhile it would run fine. My dash lites have been going onoff, and had it trouble shot by a pro this spring. He found one clip broken off the wiring harness and told me it would have to be replaced.Could this also cause the engine to respond this way? I would be very interested in how yours turns out. If I miss it on the board, please e-mail me with your results. Thanx again......Chris

You can test your theory by installing a jumper wire from the horn relay thorugh the firewall and connect it to the hot side of the relay that is mounted above the left kick panel. This gives a different path for 12 volts into the car. If your problem goes away, the issue is in the bulkhead connector. I always keep a jumper wire in the glove box for an emergency.
