    66 Windshield Sealant Question

I have installed a new windshield on my 66 convertible and want to ensure I don't get any moisture under the trim.

What sealant would you recommend? And what sealant did the assembly plant use in 1966?

    Thanks in advance.

    Mark -

The plant used a pumpable brownish goo (almost a pound per car), applied with a flow gun, to fill the gap between the rubber channel and the body opening before installing the reveal moldings; an auto glass shop might be able to recommend something similar. We used it on steel cars too with adhesive-installed windshields in the late 60's - in the plant it was called "bear grease"
