Re: mike i bet it is a case of cost

I too am a newer member and concur that I found a bit strange the lack of a classified ad link online. I have to admit one of the reasons I joined was to access the classified ads in Driveline. If I had needed a password to access Driveline online I still would have joined. Driveline printed is a great resource but unfortunately has many shortcomings. Several have been mentioned here such as timely manner of arrival, cost to publish etc. The biggest problem from a consumer point of view is digesting the ads for content in the printed form. An online version would allow you to "search" for a part with a key word, year, model etc. which saves time. I notice most of the ads in driveline are listed by year starting with the earliest to latest. I usually skip over sections to get to my year of interest. If a seller lists C3 parts with their c2 parts, I can and have overlooked them. The search function of computers is a good friend when scouting out those haystack needles. My vote goes to a classified online in some format.

Go to the Winter Regional - most will be

there getting warm for the winter.

Bring a petition signed by members and present it in person. Nothing like doing something in person to get the people in power's attention.

And you will have a good time in the warm Florida sun. Great excuse, "Dear, I HAVE to go to Florida to petition my representative."

Re: Ok boy and girls.. I've seen this argument

        Mike,

Since there is no requirement to be an NCRS member to post to the Tech Board there is no way to track who is or isn't a member. There are almost 6,000 registered users of the Tech Board and just from past discussions it seems that most users are either members when they first visit the Tech Board or join NCRS shortly after getting to know you regular posters.

"6,000 registered users of the Tech Board" That's a new number that I've never seen before. So much for the low member usage, 6,000 site users is a little less than half the members. I think the excess funds in the kitty would be well spent with a first class online web site. IMHO

            Kevin

PS John does a GREAT job here but we may need a full time web master to move ahead with this.

My favorite..... "The policeman isn't here to create disorder, he here to preserve disorder"! Chicago mayor Richard J. Daley on the 1968 democratic national convention riots.
