Happy New Year! Could some one explain the difference between the 1967 scripted valve covers and the earlier one's. I saw in one of the threads that the end was different. I looked in the archives and could not find it. Dale

The "scripted" stamped sheet metal valve covers for '67 had the ends laid back at about a 20-degree angle from vertical; '66 and earlier stamped valve covers had the ends almost vertical.

Re: 1967 valve covers
John - Happy New Year. Nice picture. The ones on my base motor '67 don't look as nice but they are the same configuration. Curious about your message. I read it as the '67 sb base Corvette engine CHEVROLET script valve covers are different in configuration at the ends then prevoius years; but I had thought that the script covers used on the Chevrolet 283 engines for a number of years proir to the 1967 Corvette engine application were the same configuration. So my question is "are the '67 Corvette CHEVROLET script ones unique?" Pete- Top

Re: 1967 valve covers
Dale-----
If you're talking about the ALUMINUM "Corvette" scripted valve covers, then the answer is as others have described.
If you're talking about the STAMPED STEEL scripted covers, it's like this: the L1959-61 scripted covers were different from the 1967 Corvette scripted covers as John described. However, the 1967 Corvette scripted covers were not unique to 1967 Corvettes. They can be found on passenger car 283 engines from about 1965 through 1967.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
