Part Numbers for Starters - what are these?

I just broke the starter nose on my truck 454 and I have to get it running tonight, so I was digging through a pile of starters I have. All should work, but mindful of numbers, I don't want to put something that might be of value to someone on it.

    I have:

    1108776 5L25
    1107374 5J24
    1108389 1 C 9 8
    1998584 8-4

I can't find these numbers in any of my books or in searches on the web, other than 1108776 which came up in a group that was equivalent to one some parts place was selling. No application was given.

    Thanks in advance.

      Mark-----

As I've mentioned before, the numbers on starters, alternators, etc., really mean nothing, at all, after a starter has been through a commercial rebuilding operation. However, here's what the FRAME of the starters you mentioned originally resided on:

1107374----1966 Buick with 300 or 340 cid engine

1108776----1975 Chevrolet models with 350, 400, or 454 cid engines

1108389----1970-71 Oldsmobile with 455 cid engine

1998584----1987-1990 Chevrolet and GMC trucks with 305, 350, and 454 cid engines. Most, if not all applications, with manual transmission.

        Thanks, Joe.

I only wanted the numbers in case they were something that would be a match for some special car in the future.

As it turned out, I found a couple were bad. I guess I'm going to have a talk with my brother as I imagine that some of his broken ones were exchanged for my working ones.
