C2 Rear Deck

My 66 roadster rear deck has a hole drilled in each side at the bottom of the front ledge to accommodate the hard top bottom attachment to the rear deck. However, the car was not furnished with a hard top and there are no mounting holes for the hard top in the top of the deck. Were these holes installed in each deck at the factory regardless whether a hard top was furnished or not?

Dave,

I can't believe you haven't gotten a response to this question. I don't have my AIM handy but your answer might be in there. I personally don't recall seeing the holes in a friends 65 non hardtop car. Post your question again and see what replies you'll get. I hate seeing questions go unanswered.

Dave, those holes at the front inner corners of the lid were drilled at assembly on C07 cars; they may have been drilled in error and they just let it go instead of changing the lid.
