    1964 alternator restoration

From experience, could someone tell me "about" how much it would cost to restore my alternator to NCRS standards from someone like John Pirkle? Thanks in advance.

    Jack,

I purchased outright from John a restored, correctly dated 1100668, 37 amp alternator about 6 years ago at Bloomington. It cost me approximately $150.00 which included the correct fan. If you are going to have yours rebuilt, I would think it should not be over $120.00 plus the shipping costs. My car was flight judged and the alternator and voltage regulator both purchased from John received no deductions. I drove the car to a regional meet and to the NCRS National Convention last summer and put about 4,500 miles on the car total, both parts performed excellent.

    Best Regards,
