    66 Steering Column Color

My 66 coupe steering column is finished in Dark Blue, the same as the rest of the interior of the car. The paint looks old (pitted) and authentic. But is it not supposed to be black? would not the same thing go for the shift console background color? black also..(I know, I need to get a judging manual).

    Re: 66 Steering Column Color

    Hi Tom:

Black / Black is all I have ever seen, I don't have a JM for your year either.

      Jerry, and Tom,

Yes that is correct, the 66 standard column as well as the optional telescopic column are painted a "low gloss black". TBarr #24014

        Re: 66 Console Plate Color

Sorry Tom, I left out the other part of your question. "The console interior trim plate has a chrome outer edge with an inner surface that matches the interior color" --- from the 66 JM. TBarr #24014
