who knows the source of the tall light houise needed to illuminate the # on the 7 car? hint: the source also "donated" the front crossmember as well as other off the shelf parts for the c-1s. mike

Does the New Smyrna car have fender scoops? The Sebring #1 did not. (I can't recall a picture of the New Smyrna car to compare.)

Bill is asking the correct question -the

#1 car at Daytona/Sebring 1956 was a 1955 chassis carrying the Prototype 1956 body with NO front fender scoops - so what picture are you referring to in 1957? As a teaser, people should realize that , techmically speaking, there was only one 1956 Corvette at Sebring 1956 - #7.

Is this one of the 4 cars shipped to Dick Doane as new 56 Production SR1's or one of the other 2 56 production SR1's..or one of the cars that ran at Sebring?

John, not at all. These look like they were shot yesterday.............I noticed that the second to the last photo on page two is an Olds Super 88. Probably a DUH question, but is this one of the three that were produced of which one was the three million dollar car last year at Barrett Jackson? I would guess that this car is still in the possession of GM right?
