    Off Topic G.M. rear diff

While backing up my 2001 1/2 t p/u , not immediately but after 30 feet , it feels as if the parking brake is applied slightly or some resistance , only noticed in reverse backing up , is this a posi problem with the clutch pack or a brake problem i am not aware of? thanks for your thought s on this off topic.

It could possibly be park brake issue caused by some rust build up in the rear hat section of the rotor. Shoe to drum clearance on these systems is important.
      From the service manual:
This park brake system is self-adjusting and there are no cable adjustment provisions on these vehicles. When a vehicle park brake system has been serviced and/or the brake rotor has been removed or replaced, ensure proper system setting is achieved by performing the following steps:

Verify that the park brake shoes are adjusted to provide a clearance of 0.66 mm (0.026 in) between the shoes and brake rotor as indicated in the applicable Service Manual procedure.
Fully apply and release the park brake lever three times.
The clearance above is set with a special drum to brake shoe clearance gage.
