Re: ****el 4 Rotor/Aerovette
AFAIK GM still owns it. It became the Aerovette after the rotary engine was replaced with a 400 SB. IIRC it was built on the XP-882 chassis, which debuted in 1973 with a transverse SB drivetrain, several of which I saw in durability testing at the Tech Center circa 1970. The press was sure that XP-882 was a prototype 1973 Corvette, but, alas, that was not to be.
I'm not sure what happened to the Two Rotor Corvette. It was build on a Porsche 914 chassis.
Last time I saw the Aerovette was at the Monterey Historics in 1987.
The XP-880 (aka "Astrovette") is also still with GM. They had it on display at the NCRS National Convention at Monterey in 2001.

Re: ****el 4 Rotor/Aerovette
Tom Falconer of the UK has the car in his workshop (excl. the engine).
Only steel Corvette I'm aware of...

Re: ****el 4 Rotor/Aerovette
GM still owns the 4-Rotor/AeroVette; it was on display at our "Corvettes America" show last summer. The one Mike Yager has (and is restoring) is that horrible thing that had a V-8 hanging out BEHIND the rear axle (the ultimate demonstrator to answer the question, "What is polar moment of inertia?" - even worse than a Porsche).- Top

I CRS and am confused
If Tom Falconer owns a formerly ****el powered Vette - and GM still also owns a ****el powered Vette - is this korrect?
Tom owns the 2 rotor which was ?metal bodied
GM owns the 4 rotor which is ?? bodied or skineed in what? Metal or Fiberglass
Lastly is the Reynolds Aluminum bodied Vette one and the same as the former 2 rotor Vette or .... are there two metal bodied Corvettes????
... been Dazed and Confused for so long ...
