    sagging dash

I have a problem with my drivers side lower dash ( tach and speedo)in which it is sagging forward (toward the driver) this in turn causes the center guage cluster to sag forward also. I can't seem to find a way to tighten it up so it sits closer to the firewall. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Car is a 1968.

The left(driver's side)should attach to the door post. If it or the top were not attached that might allow it to tilt toward the driver. Is the steering column support attached?

The attachment at the door post and the steering column seem to be ok>. It is the area on the left side, tach area, that comes forward about an inch. No visible attachment/support area except the center guage cluste and the small trim at/near the tunnel. I'm thinking of zip tying it back. Or is that too bubba?

Sounds like you are describing the right side of dash and left side of the center cluster. I read the left side of the dash originally. The top of the dash should screw into the dash pad which is held by a metal bar to the birdcage.

The top part of the dash fits fine. Its just at its lower portion it leans toward the driver, away from the firewall. There is not any support at the lower right corner to maintain its proper position. And since the guage cluster is attached to the panel, the gauge cluster is out of position as well, ie leaning forward toward the driver. I can push it all back to the correct position with my hands, but no means to secure it once it is positioned. That's why I was considering zip tying it behind the dash in some manner. Maybe the dash pad is too old, but I hate to go through the time and expense to remove and replace.
