C2:67 Back to my original clock

    And here it is:

This is after removing the quartz movement, and putting back my original (refurbed) movement. I also painted the inner bezel, put in a new lense and outer bezel.

Forgot to adjust the minute and hour hands to relative positions, but caught that just before I put it back in the car. Works like a charm, and now I'll be working on the adjustment from the owners manual. Thanks guys, for the tip.

Forgot how easy it is to remove or replace a C2 clock. Just reach in behind the console from the passenger side and remove 2 clips. Got it down to less then a minute, in or out. I feel sorry for you C3 guys.

    Here it is coming out:

    And here's the two clips:

So, today I made 25 points on ops, and 2 on interior. Now if I get that horn button fixed to blow on four quadrants, and that blinkin' blinkin' headlight warning light bulb changed, I'll be perfect on Operations.

    And still having fun,

    Jerry,
Is there a 25 point deduction for having a quartz movement clock?

Gerard, who did you get to convert back to original type movement? I have one that needs to be done.

        Rick,

I got a full deduct of 25 on Operations at Flight Judging for a quartz movement.
The judges noticed the quartz movement sweep in about 10 seconds.

          Bob,

I went to a guy on ebay, named skybob1. I just sent him my original movement which I had saved when I did the quartz conversion some years ago. He replaced the points, magnet, cleaned and adjusted the unit. You can also send him the whole clock. Going rate was $35 plus $8 shipping for the movement repair. If you need other parts, it will probably be extra.

The service was good with a pretty fast turnaround. I found the service by doing an ebay search under "Corvette Clock"

              25 point deduct

and you wonder why people get so excited over the 88 points for an engine stamping pad.
