70 350 block w/ partial VIN 404583

If the last six digits of the VIN on your 70 Corvette are 404583, then I have your original engine block. The block is also stamped V0212CTH. I think it's in good shape. I just pulled it out of my 69 Z/28. It's probably a long shot, but I would like to try to find the original owner of this block. I tried sending e-mail to matchingnumbers.com as well, but it bounced.

One question, I noticed on the rear of the block I see "010" cast on the block which I believe indicates a "high nickel content" block. Also cast right below the block is "020". Can anyone tell me what that means?

The "010" is a derivative of the block casting number which should be 3970010. The "020" casting symbol, often seen on the front of the engine under the timing cover and perhaps elsewhere, is reportedly an indication of a block cast with either hi-nickel or high tin content gray cast iron. I've never confirmed this, though.
