1963 SWC windshield and rear window clips

I need to purchase a few rear window and windshield stainless trim retainer clips for my 63 SWC project. I have checked a few part catalogs with no luck. Does anyone have a source for these clips?

    Thanks for any help!

Coincidentally, I'm at the same stage in my project. I just picked up the rubber from Corvette Rubber Company but they didn't sell the clips either.

    I'm interested also.

Ray my last Corvette Central catalog shows them available. I need them also. Save your money because they don't give 'em away. About $3 ea.

I just ordered and recieved the entire set for my 66 coupe from Long Island Corvette. You can purchase them individually or as a kit. Took 3 days to get them.

I was cleaning the windshield clips to determine how many replacement clips I would need and noticed that there were two different clips. One has a narrow J-mount U, about 3/32 to 1/8" and the other has a flatter bottom and about 7/32 to 1/4" wide. I only see one size clip in the part house catalogs. Does any one have information on the different clips?

            Thanks Ray

When I was restoring my 63 I bought clips from one vendor and they DID NOT WORK, Long Island Corvette has the BEST especially for the rear split windows.

FYI when installing the rear window trim, you will NEED TO SHAVE DOWN the rubber. The rubber is TOO THICK for the clips. We shaved it down with a dremel tool and then was able to carefully put on the trim. Just thought I would give you heads up. If you got a better way, please let me know... I am just about to remove the rear glass and replace it with new glass, and I will be going through this entire process again...took me a day last time to do both windows....

                Thanks! Collin

I am lucky on the rear clips; I only needed to order four clips. I purchased them from Paragon and if I need to I will modify them to match.

If I understand your post in reference to mounting the stainless you needed to trim the upper portion of the rubber seal in order to get the stainless to seat down and attach to the clips. Is this correct?

                Thanks for your help!

Yes that is correct. The top peak for the rubber is to big for the SS trim to fit over it attaching to the clips...When you put the rubber over the clips you will see exactly what I am talking about. You really do not want to force the SS onto the clips, you can damage the SS. BTW I used a cut down smoothen piece of wooden dowel with a thick cloth to work the SS onto the clips.

                    Hi! Collin

Whose rubber rubber gasket did you use? I purchased mine from Corvette Rubber.

                    Thanks Ray

Corvette Rubber...best around....just that it does not fit exactly like the NOS. I called and talked to them about it, they told me they did not understand why it doesn't, but I have talked to othe SWC owners who used the same vendor with the same results.
