C-4 Rear View Mirror Help

Gentlemen:

I have a '92 convertible. I recently bought a replacement lighted mirror but unfortunately the mounting is different. My original mount has a screw that threads directly into the winshield header. There is a cast alignment pin on the underside. The replacement seems designed to mount to a plate by sliding over it (like the type that mounts directly to the windshield with adhesive). It is held from sliding off by a set screw. Can someone help with correct part number for the type that I need, plus info on what the one just received can fit as I now need to resell it? It too has the light option. Thank you. Mike

The original mirroe for your application was GM #10198615. It was discontinued several years ago and replaced by GM #12513138. How this mirror might differe from the original, I do not know. In any event, the 12513138 is now also discontinued and I don't show any supercession for it. There may be one, though. Have your GM dealer check that number for a possible supercession. Otherwise, you're out-of-luck as far as a GM replacement is concerned.

Thanks for the info. It looks like I'll peruse the used market. The front ball joint on mine came loose and there is no way to tighten the thin metal swage around the ball.
