    Restoring 62 Hardtop Question

My brother and I are in the process of restoring the hardtop on my 1962 Corvette, with both tops. We have it completely apart, and have sent the stainless to Handsoff polishing. We have a question about how many clips there are to bolt the top down. For as long as we can remember there have only been two at the back to bolt to the convertible top cover. Some years or all years also had two additional clips and bolts on the sides. The 62 AIM is not clear. Should our 62 have the clips on the sides? Is this different when you have both tops? I hope Mike is wrong about how difficult this is! So far so good. We have purchased our parts from the original owner of Glassworks in Pittsburgh and he has been very helpful and kind with advice. I recommend him highly. Thanks.

    Re: Restoring 62 Hardtop Question

there are brackets attached to the sides of the hardtop, right about where the drivers left shoulder and the pass's right shoulder are located, that attach to the body. there ought to be a depressed plateau in that area of the body that the brackets will sit on. Ted at glassworks is a prince. too bad for all the bad publicity about his enterprise 6-12 months ago. he sure treated me right. mike
