Re: Future of GM and New Camaro

the new mustang has sold over 165K units. why dont chevrolet build this car? I know they think the two door coupe market is dead. wrong just look at the ford numbers again! an now dodge has a new concept challenger.

but you can not do like they did with the GTO an SSR, they are just way to much money for the product. if ford can build a loaded mustang for under 30K GM should be able to do the same with a Camaro!

Have you seen that Concept Challenger

Have you seen the concept Challenger, very retro looking and very sharp. Kind of a similar look as that orange Camaro. It should be a hot seller if built.

It certainly will. Just like the mustang.

Re: It's going to be delayed 2 to 3 years

There is an '84 Corvette pickup on eBay. Looks a bit like the Dodge Rampage from long ago.

It uses the '91-'96 bumpers and is a bit strange. It doesn't say, but I'm thinking it isn't on a Corvette chassis.

that is NEAT i would like one to haul my ATV

and i could have fun blowing off corvettes at redlights like i did with my one pickup that had a aluminum headed 482 cu in BBC for power. mrs clem made me get rid of it because i had it durring the first gas crunch and at 6-8 MPG it was not to cheap to operate.

The first gas crunch, you mean when gas got up to 50 cents a gallon? Pretty outrageous prices.

i think it was around 1980 because i sold it and bought a new 1980 4 cylinder citation. my fuel bill was $400 a month before the citation

Re: that is NEAT i would like one to haul my ATV

                    There was a gas crisis?

In '80, I was driving a '76 3/4 ton Suburban to tow the race car trailer. I was autocrossing most weekends, and hauling a car out to road race about once a month.

Playing was driving a 427 Corvette.

Commuting 60 miles to main job, 50 miles to second job, 20 miles to school, and dating a girl 25 miles away from me.

I did drive a Vega to Ohio to visit my brother in college, though. Maybe there was a gas crisis.

That '84 Corvette pickup is definitely longer than a Corvette. What do you think, they hung the body on an S10 frame?

                        Or Clem's post

If they see one post saying they'd like one, they would build it and then where will we be?

my son was racing motorcycle hare scrambles back then so i used the citation with a 2 bike trailer on the back to travel to the races.we also did dirt bike trail riding at our place in north central PA that was a 200 mile each way trip and the citation would pull 25 MPG towing the trailer. got smarter in 1981 and bought a X-11 citation to tow with and the V-6 had more power but still go the same milage.

i would want a C-6 front end as i never cared

for the C-4s. i owned new el caminos back in 71 and 72 the problem was the bed was too short for the snowmobile so in 73 and later i moved to full size pickups but i got carried away in the late 70s with the 482 ci in one. i guessed i missed my corvettes, Z-28s and 70 450 HP chevelle
