    C-2 Headlights

Hey Guys....love the discussions...2 questions: 1) is the L-88 On the cover of Zip Authentic, or a clone? 2) My headlights on my 67 coupe will go off and stay off for about 3-4 mins then come back on.the second time this happened, just briefly though, i had a hot area around the horn relay, replace the fuse link, thinking i had fixed the problem. But this headlight thing happened again. but they will go on & off like i was signaling to someone the coast is clear. Nothing is happening to the tail lights, and wife is now gun shy about riding it at night. Can someone help me with the lights, i'll correct the wife thing. Max

    Max -

You have a dead short to ground somewhere in the headlight wiring; the flashing on and off is caused by the internal circuit breaker inside the headlight switch. That circuit has a thermal breaker instead of a fuse as a safety feature so you don't lose the headlights altogether in the event of a dead short - the breaker is self-resetting and cycles on and off if a short occurs instead of leaving you suddenly and permanently in the dark at 70mph.

Thanks John, this would defintely help me locating the little demon that set up living quarters in my coupe.

I've seen this problem before and it was the switch itself.
