    '67 BB Exhaust Manifolds

Could someone post a picture or explain what an original '67 big block exhaust manifild should look like, particularly at the head mounting flange area where the A.I.R. holes would be bored? I'm curious what they look like especially ones the do not have A.I.R, should that area be cast flat were the bore would be for the A.I.R.?

Also on a '67 BB with 390 or 400 hp with standard ignition, were is the correct location for the ballist resistor?

    Thanks,

    James West

    James,

I posted a picture of my original '67 BB manifolds w/o A.I.R. on Jan 3, 2006 the title was 'Correct 67 BB exhuast manifolds???'

Hope this helps answer your question.

The ballast resistor is mounted on the firewall About 3-4 inches toward center from the M/C. There should be a hole existing in the firewall fiberglass.

        Daniel-----

All 1966-74 Corvette big block manifolds have the "flat" area which is occupied by a drilled and tapped fitting on AIR-equipped manifolds. The exact same castings were used for AIR and non-AIR manifolds during this period. The only Corvette big block exhaust manifolds that don't have the "flat area" are the 1965-only, L-78 manifolds.

          Guys,

Thanks for the responses. I had one more question regarding the ballist resistor. On a true 1967 390/400/435 hp car WITH transistor ignition, is there still a hole in the fire wall for the ballist resistor or was that drilled on the assembly line if the car was so equipped?

          Thanks,
