    Hardtop storage for '66

I recently took delivery of my restored hardtop for my '66. Presently, it's not on the car because it's winter in NYS,and I store my car with the convertible top up, rather than folded in the down position to prevent cracking and deep creases. I bought a hardtop storage cart from Mid America whick looked to be the sturdiest I've seen and the hardtop is now on there w/the cover. What I'd like to know is what is the proper position to store it on the cart. Is it better to have it leaning forward with the top of the hardtop resting against the top liner (it rests on a padded t-bar part of the cart), or reversed so that the outside of the top rests against the padded piece. I initially placed it this way as to not scratch the paint on the top, but I'm having second thoughts about it, because I also don't want to cause damage to my headliner, either. I might mention, the top is resting on the window frame (at the bottom of the cart against the guards to prevent it from slipping)and tilted upwards. All points on the cart that touch any part of the hardtop are padded Thank you for any input any of you can provide to me. This is the first time I've had a Vette with this type of removable hardtop.

turn it around, you will have a permanent dent in the liner.

They were made to put on the car and drive all winter, so Chevy must not have thought storing the soft top down was a problem.

I know, you don't drive in winter.
