    C-2 Dash Panel

The JG indicates that the upper dash panel around the speaker grille and the center vertical area above the console is a low gloss paint color. I am in the process of painting this area. Any suggestions on how to prep and paint this area? Any recommendations on a particular paint that would be correct for this area? Thanks in advance for you help. Hector

Spend a LOT of time cleaning this area as they typically have ARMOR-ALL or such which doesn't remove easily. You didn't state what color so I can't recommend anything. If you have paint adhesion problems such as "fish-eyes" a product called BULLDOG Adhesion promoter worked well as a base for the paint.

      Sorry. It's black.

Try the Krylon flat black or ultra flat black. They worked for me.

If it is a flat black - not such what it should be however.
Try SEM Bumper Coater, 39103. It has a very very low finish, just above satin.
Try a search also, I've seen past discussions on this part.

I have had excellent results with Seymour HI-TECH Lacquer Coating Semi-gloss black.

              Hector,

As others have mentioned there is allot of discussion on this subject in the archives. I used the semi-flat black Krylon spray cans available at discount and auto parts stores, and I think it looks great. This paint is very easy to use, and forgiving. If you don't like the finish sand lightly and shoot another coat. Others have also recomended John Deere blitz black paint.

Krylon semi-flat black worked well on both my 66 and 67....easy to apply and exactly the right sheen....long lasting too....

Thanks Rick. I've used the same paint many years ago and had positive results as well.
