I am straightening the frame on my vintage racer after the crash at Road America this summer and have been looking for frame measurement to use at the frame shop. In the 1965 Shop manual in the frame section there is a drawing with some measurements. However the ones I really need aren't shown. I need the verticle measurement at the front and rear. There are arrows to indicate distance to a datum plane but no measurement. I'm trying to get the verticle difference between the front "gage hole" and the front frame members. Anybody have this information in their vast storehouse of knowledge? Jerry

Re: C2 Frame dimnsions
Barry,
Thanks for the frame dimensions. On what basis are the vertical measurements taken, e.g., front frame extension to ground = 14 3/8". With suspension and wheels/tires installed but no body installed? Engine and transmission in place? In a frame jig? Thanks.
Best regards,

I am glad you're asking for frame dimensions and not references for a good orthopedic surgeon.

Re: C2 Frame dimnsions
Jerry,
Which car is yours? I missed that event but have many pic's of the accident. What a shame. Lot of great cars injured. The black/red stripe big block 67 conv with the Camaro parked across the hood was the car I drove at Road America several years ago. Good luck with your repair.- Top

Re: I'm # 71 Old Ed Lowthar car
That must then be a 2nd black 67 that looks almost exactly like the one I restored/drove in the early 90's. That car was restored and painted black after the original black car was sold in the early 90's. It does look almost identical but I see a small difference in the roll bar. Glad no one was seriously injured!- Top

Re: I'm # 71 Old Ed Lowthar car
When did he drive that one? Most of what I have seen Ed in were Cobras in the mid '60s. then he was in Corvettes for IMSA in the 70s.

Re: C2 Frame dimnsions
Charlie
sorry, i have no clue, i just have the file in my tech papers collection. I can't even remember where I got it from, but I have the specs like that on the C1, C2, and C3 frames.
As I "find" tech info I keep it never knowing when I may need it.- Top
