Paint on a-arm shafts, bushings, ball joints

Can anyone tell me what judges look for on 66 a-arms in terms of paint? I know the judging juide says glossy black paint on the a-arm and shaft. Does this mean that the entire shaft, bushings, washers and bolts are all painted, including the rubber part of the bushings?

Are any parts of the ball joint painted, e.g., the ball joint flange or the rivet heads or peened over ends?

    Thanks in advance,

    Gary

Re: Paint on a-arm shafts, bushings, ball joints

Gary, The A-arms are painted as an assembly, both uppers and lowers minus the ball joints and rebound bumpers. The intent was to paint the sheet metal arm, so the pivot shafts and bushings and hardware being attach also got covered in varing degrees. The ball joints were riveted on after the painting.
