can anyone recommend a source for the front outboard grill brackets/supports for a 68?

Nearly certain they are not reproduced. You will need to find some good used one's. I see them on ebay from time to time. Terry

Ara,
Terry is correct; this part seems not to be available from any vendors. I searched for them when I recently restored my 68 coupe and could not find a set. Finally, someone on the Corvette Forum made me a set and they fit perfectly. I recetly tried to contact him and U S Postal Service returned mail as "Moved, left no forwarding address" so now I can't locate him.
You may end up having to fabricate something using a template from another 68 or at the very least, a photograph.
