1980 dating looks strange

Just purchased a 1980. Bought from the 4th owner, car has 60k miles. Cannot find any clues of previous damage and all the records I got with the car does not indicate it has ever been hit. But the dating on the car looks strange. The Body Tag has a date of H30 or March 30th, ("Corvette By The Number" states that "H" stands for March), but the serial number indicates the car was built on the last day of May production (within 25 cars of 431152, which is SN of last car built in May '80 by the Black Book). Colors on the Body Tag are correct. The engine has the correct vin and code (ZBC) and is date stamped V0507, or May 7th. This looks ok with the SN of the car, But I have two months of time between the body tag and the serial number. Any ideas as to why? Body Stamp incorrectly marked?

'H' is for May according to the NCRS Corvette Spec book. Not all years of production started in the same month, so not all 'H' cars are March. 1980 production started in October.

Thank you, now it all makes sense. The only reference I have at the moment is Colvin's "Corvette By The Numbers" which says that for the 1980 model year "H" is March. Wonder how many other years are incorrectly noted?
