Joe, I posted this message a few days ago and no could come up with a reply. Now that you're back on-line perhaps you can help. I've got an alternator pulley with 3947124 stamped into it. "CE S5 GM" are also stamped on it. It's heavy for it's size, perhaps a cast item? Any idea's on application? Thanks - Doug

Doug------
GM #3947124 is a 2-7/8" OD alternator pulley with one 1/2" groove and machined for an 11/16" rotor shaft. It was used for 1969-70 series 10-30 light truck applications with 292 engine. I can find no passenger car applications, at all, for it.
It was discontinued in July, 1983 and replaced by GM #3947125 which was originally used for many 1969+ truck applications with V-8 engines. The 3947125 is dimensionally similar except that it has 2 grooves. For applications in which it replaces the GM #3947124, only 1 of the 2 grooves is used. The GM #3947125 pulley remains available from GM for a current list of $57.08.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
