    Quartz Clock Point Deduction

What would the point deduction be for having a quartz clock in a C2 (1967)?
    Thanks

        Re: Quartz Clock Point Deduction

Why would there be a 25 point ops deduction? Ops only determines whether or not something works. That is like saying you should get a full ops deduct if you have the incorrect headlight, wiper blades, etc. As long as they function you should not get a deduct. If you are doing PV than I would agree with a full deduct.

Per the judging guide in the "operations" section, "A quartz type conversion requires a full deduct" It does not "operate" in the correct (original) manner.

            ReWhats the point?

I guess it makes no sence to change it. I have the original one in my car, and it operates when it feels like it, and when I have had it judged, I have never lost all the points. I lost 13 if it didn't run due to the fact that it can be set and the hands moves. Maybe a over generous judge, but even if was a quarts, I still don't think a full deduct is right. It is working and keeping time. Its could even be original clock with the quartz guts. A half deduct, but not a full. Just my two cents.

Chasman --- Runs when it feels like it? That's whay my '67 clock did and it only needed cleaning and lubricating. I used Roger Scott to do the work at a fair reasonable price. His web page is http://www.corvetteinstrumentservice.com

                Point deduction I received

I received a 12 pt deduction for a quartz clock in my 71 at a regional in 2004. The clock line item on the judging sheet states "Clock & reset function". The reset worked, the clock failed so I received half the total deduction. Don't know if it's the same for a 67.
