    66 power antenna

I'd like to replace the service replacement antenna that is currently on my 66 vette with an original antenna. Any suggestions/recommendations where I might find one? I understand there might be issues regarding original and reproductions masts. Any information on this topic would be greatly appreciated. Hector

There are two of them on ebay right now. Also, call Dale at OEM Glass in Bloomington IL-he restores them.

I've thought of doing this also, but I am having trouble figuring out if the wiring is still in place. I thought there would be a loose "plug" back where the antenna is mounted and under the dash for the switch, but don't see either. Assuming Bubba messed up the wiring harness, is this something that can be worked around by running just the wires for the antenna motor to the back and hooking up the switch?

I'm also unsure about where the switch (are these even available?) is supposed to mount. There are two holes in the bottom of the instrument panel by the ignition key that are about 1-1/2" apart. Is this the right place?

        Steven -

The antenna circuits are integrated into the instrument panel harness and the rear body harness; three wires at the switch (red, black, and black/white), and a black and a white wire in a plug at the antenna. The switch mounts to the driver's side radio side panel with two screws (the panel has a large square hole for the switch and two screw holes pre-cut in it). Cars ordered without the optional radio had the unused connectors taped back to the harnesses. The U69 section in your Assembly Manual shows all the details.

Thanks, John. I'll look around more closely and check the AIM.
