    1966 Seat Foam Replacement

I'm in the early stages of having the seats of my '66 Coupe refurbished. I would like some advice as to the merits of using pre-formed seat foams versus having a shop provide the foam. What experience have others had using shop foam and Al Knoch vinyl seat covers? Thanks.

    DO IT!

Biggest single thing you can do to make seating fresh/new is replace the foam! Especially true if covers are leather and you want them to look full/plump in factory fresh environment. Plus, read the assembly instruction manual (AIM) and note many of the older Corvettes used a burlap cover between springs and foam to prevent chaffing/wear of foam. You can either cut the burlap from local washed/cleaned vegetable bag or order along with the foam from seat cover supplier. I would DEFINATELY use pre-formed foam instead of stuffing 'er up with off-the-shelf foam as it fits correctly and has a 'skin' to resist oxidation and flaking....
