    Joe Lucia Parts Question

Hello Joe, my '74 is equiped with Ram's Horn exhaust manifolds 3797901/2. I've developed an exhaust leak at the heat riser. Is the heat riser and riser gasket unique to this manifold or will any 2 1/2" '63-67 riser and gasket work?
    Thanks, Bill

    Bill------

I don't know if ANY 63-67 2-1/2" heat riser and associated parts will work, but any of those 2-1/2" set-ups used for any 63-68 Corvette will work.

The valve is GM #3887034 (this is the 66-68 and 70-74 valve but it SERVICES 63-65, too). This valve will work on both big block and small block applications.

The triangular gasket is GM #10159498. The "do-nut" packing is GM #15634536. Or, if you wanted a sintered iron "do-nut" (which I recommend) use GM #3768711.

      Bill,

I would advise spraying some WD-40 on the manifold studs bolts. Use plenty of WD-40 a day or two before you plan to remove the nuts. It's a real pain if a stud breaks then you'll have to remove manifold to get it out. I know I when through this when a stud on my '78 manifold broke.

      Good Luck,
      Bob
