I have a 427 390hp engine. Has anyone replaced the hose fitting in front of the intake manifold that connects the hose from the manifold to the water pump. It apears to be a press fit connector. The fitting I recieved from zip does not fit snug enough for a good seal Am i doing this right.

Yes, you are correct. For 1967 the fitting in BOTH the manifold and the waterpump for the bypass connection was a PRESS-FIT type fitting. Usually, the biggest problem is getting the old fitting out. Getting the new one in, once the old is removed, is not usually too difficult.
However, the fitting has to be a TIGHT interference fit. It should NOT be loose and you should not be able to press it in with just the force of your hands. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Forget it. The paint will NEVER provide a sufficient interference fit and a seal. I'd look for another nipple. You might even be able to get one of these in a good auto parts supply store. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
