I have heard the B-J commentators mentioned twice today that the 67 they were hawking was NCRS "supervised" during restoration. Does NCRS have a restoration services department I am unaware of ?
B-J NCRS supervised restoration ??

Re: B-J NCRS supervised restoration ??
The red L-71 pervertible that just sold for 350K was announced by one of the TV guys as being "NCRS Certified". Maybe the Restoration Supervision Division and the Certification Department are in the same building.

NCRS should charge for use of NCRS
If NCRS got money for each time they used NCRS in their hawking, we could all get regional meets at $5 registration, Driveline and Corvete Restorer free, and dues could drop to $5 a year.
If I remember right while seaching trademarks, NCRS owns NCRS, or at least all the Flight Award names, and the use of it by B-J is an infringement or else they need to be paying for each time they use it.

Re: NCRS should charge for use of NCRS
Mark;
Thats a great point. You know if NCRS wanted to use anything Barrett Jackson, Craig Jackson would have his hand out. He is the biggest profit ***** in existence. I was at Palm Beach last year, and the vendors were complaining that Craig next year (2006) wants 50% of concession revenues.
Since Dave Burroughs copyrighted "Survivor Car", NCRS should be more demanding about use of its name.- Top

Re: NCRS should charge for use of NCRS
Craig is pissed now and it seems the whole tone of the auction has changed. He only got 2.8 mil for the Bonneville, and 1.1 for the '52 D'elegance. No crowd excitement either.
I heard a rumor the Bonneville was in Craigs collection. Does anyone know if it was his?

Re: NCRS should charge for use of NCRS
If a single vendor is in a position to pay 50% of their revenue to Jackson as you claim, then THEY are the profit *****s. What kind of margin are they working on anyway? Why does Jackson charge what he does? Just like the people who put their cars through the auction, they want the most they can get and obviously they feel this is the place to get it. No altruism there ! Capitalism at it's finest. Testosterone and unbridled wealth running rampant.
Not making a moral judgement, just offering some reasons why.- Top
