    C-3 side view mirror

For any of you needing to tighten up the side view mirror on your C-3 and are hesitant to soak it in lacquer thinner for fear of destroying something, fear not. I just performed the tightening on my '69 mirror (Paragon reproduction with dated mirror) and it worked perfectly. I soaked the head of the mirror over night in a pyrex bowl and the glass fell out without any prodding and absolutely no damage to the glass or chrome. I used a small drift to re-peen the rivets holding the flat steel across the ball of the arm and it tightened up. Will it stay tight? We'll see next summer. Hope this helps.

If you hit the rivets with super glue before you peen, I think it really helps things for the long term. That pot metal can only hack getting hammered about once in a lifetime. I put some more on after it has dried. Just my two cents worth. Terry
