Can you dye seat belts? 68s

Is it possible to dye seat belts from bright blue to black? Has anyone done it before? What are my options? Thanks, Kevin

I do not believe that you will have any problem getting the webbing to take the black dye, however if the stiching is nylon it could be a problem. It does not take dye as well as cotton. I would advise you to try a test patch before you do the whole belt

Agree with Dick. You can easily due the webbing using RIT dye. If the stiching doesn't take, you can always cut the stiches out and resew them using the correct thread. If you have any sewn on labels, you want to remove them too before you dye.

I was hoping that it wouldn't be to difficult. I will carefully remove the labels first and hope the stitching will take the dye. Thanks, Kevin
