    C2 Reproduction wheels

My son and I are currently restoring a 1967 coupe that was origionally optioned
with aluminum bolt on wheels and redline tires. Who is the best manufacturer of
these wheels and who is the best supplier? I have seen a difference of price
for a set as much as $450.00. Also can someone recommend a manufacturer or brand of redline tire. The car will only be driven to local shows and an
occasional cruise. Thank you in advance for any help or advice.

there is only one suppler that I know of for repro bolt on and that is western wheel. for the tires you have Cooker tires, and Diamond back. I too help my dad restore a 67 coupe, that got me a whole lot closer to my dad because of that

All the repro aluminum wheels (KO, direct-bolt KO and bolt-ons) are made by Corvette America, and Virginia Vettes usually has good prices on them.

I'd recommend Diamondback (www.dbtires.com) over the other supplier for redline radial tires.

Western Wheel sold the tooling to Corvette America a number of years ago - don't recall exactly when; Corvette America moved the tooling to a Chinese manufacturer last March, and that's where the wheels come from now.

If you buy four, do they throw in soup and

              an eggroll?

I was just talking to my brother about a vise I bought for my dad 35 or more years ago. Thing was huge, just what we needed in the garage, and cheap. Made In China.

Darn thing broke when putting in the second u-joint of a driveshaft.

It was upsetting to see the money disappear like that, but not nearly as much as watching my wheels crack into while in a nice curve along some mountain road or next to some Florida canal.
