I've got this beautiful and original '67 steering wheel that I want to keep with my restoration, EXCEPT there is a 1/8" crack/separation in the wood simulated wheel at 12:00 o'clock. It looks like a toothy grin with a front tooth missing. Any suggestions on what I can use to fill the crack?
Tony,
I used a semi clear epoxy for plastic and color matched it to the wood grain using fiberglass resin tint, some redish brown and a drop of black. You can airbrush or brush the grain on to match or leave it. I wet sanded and clear coated it to finish.
