      Re: Good Point Loren...

If I wanted to put the car back to chassis exhaust soemday, how do you repair the cuts made to the lower fender and quarter panel? Would an experienced Corvette bodyman be able to repair or would you need to order new panels ($$)?

        John,

If you save the fiberglass tabs that would be removed to convert to side exhaust, I would think that an experienced glass man could be reattached them if ever you decide to switch back to chassis exhaust.

If the steel rocker moulding tabs were cut off, or removed completel to install side exhaust, that would be a little more difficult to repair but certainly not impossible.

There was no unique relativity between A. O. Smith bodies and the frames.

Re: AOS & Sidepipes amd BBS

In an earlier post, the term frame referred to the body frame structure "bird cage" which is bonded to the body glass. AO smith only produced bird cages equipped with the rocker panel brackets. To accommodate side exhaust, N14 cars used a notched bird cage and omitted the rocker pane brackets. Thus AO Smith bodied was not used for option N14.
