AFB Carburetor Rebuilding/Paragon Corvette

I note that the Paragon catalog states that they rebuild carburetors. I need bushings installed in the throttle shaft bores in the base of my AFB. I can rebuild the rest of the carburetor myself.

1. Anybody have any experience with Paragon rebuilding their AFB carburetor?

2. Does anybody know who does this work for Paragon? I know some of the usual individuals who do this work are backed up right now. Or, does Paragon do it themselves?

3. If not Paragon, does anybody have any recommendations?

I'll call paragon tomorrow and also ask them these questions. Just posting to see if anybody has any experience.

Chris, I do not know who does Paragons work if it is not done in-house. I sent my AFB to Chicago Corvette (ugh!) and they sent it to someone in New Jersey. Like to never have got it back.

I would suggest Bob Kunz to completly restore the carb (fit shafts, correctly replate/clean/replace parts as needed, etc); however, that is not what you want done. You might call Bob and see what he can for only refitting the shafts. Bob did the carbs on my BB. I can't locate his phone number but it is likely posted somewhere on this TDB.

I sent my AFB to Bob Kunz 15 years ago. It took him about 4 months to do it back then and I'm pleased to state that I haven't had one ioda of trouble with it... but then again, it's been a box on the shelf since I got it back.

Hope to actually install it in a year or two..

Bob Kunz did an AFB for me in October of last year. Told me that it would take six to eight weeks but had it back to me in five. It was a complete rebuild and I was very happy with the work and performance.

Bob Knuz has done two AFB's and one Holley for me and I was pleased with his work. He is also very helpful with Carb questions. The time factor depends on his work load at the time you send it to him. Give him a call. 314-845-2566

One more endorsement for Bob Kunz. He rebuilt and detailed my Holley 3810 during the Summer of 1999, have not had a single problem since. Never met him face to face, but based on several phone conversations I’d say Bob’s as honest and sincere as you’ll find on this earth.

I used Jerry Luck for my Holley 3810. He does outstanding work if you are not in any hurry.

Holley will rebuild AFB and others, they are one of the best, good turn-around...but a bit pricey.
