    68 wiper actuator question.

Can people look at their 68 wiper actuators and tell me if they see a little screw or screw hole in the top side of the flange of either the actuator and/or the actuator suport bracket? Then let me know the vin and build date thing. I believe the early cars had no screws so sometime in production they added screws to help with the issues related to the boot sort of falling out of place. Thanks Terry

    Also....

The TMJ describes that you could find a "clip" holding the actuator boot on???? The only thing I have ever observed on 68's is either screw(s) or no screw(s). Once, a long time ago I saw a heater hose type spring clamp but it didn't look like it belonged and it was not functioning very well. Would really like to know what others have seen. The assembly manual does not show a screw or any fastener holding the boot in place. If people want a picture of the rubber boot, etc. let me know. Thanks, Terry

      Re: Also....

My 68 doesn't seem to have a screw or clip or screw hole? I seem to remember
reading somewhere that at some point in production a screw may have been added.

I don't know if that was the NCRS Judging Manual or "The 69 Stingray" book?

My 68 is an early April coupe and has no screw or screw hole holding the boot. Larry

Larry, can you send me an email so I can send you a picture of the actuator set up for 68 and you can tell me if yours looks like the one in the picture. Or, send me a picture of yours. Thanks, Terry email at tfringo@aol.com
