    65 PS control valve rebuild/assy.

I am in the process of rebuilding my 65 control valve. The shop manual and the article for the reassembly of this control valve use 2 different names for the same part. One calls it the reaction seal, the parts layout calls it the annulus seal. Anyway, on my old seal (lip up) it is vulcanized onto one of the washers. In my parts from NAPA the washer is separate from this seal. Should I try glueing this seal to the washer or do I dare leave it loose and not glued/vulcanized to washer? Thanks Dick Gutman

I don't think that it's necessary to "glue" the seal to the washer. However, you do want to be sure that the seal does not dislocate from the correct installed position.

Thanks for the reply Joe: I am going to give it a try. Has anyone ever tested their PS assy. temporarily installed onto their chassis. I am thinking of giving it a try before I set the engine back onto my frame. If it doesn't work or if there are leaks it would be easier to work on it now than later. Dick Gutman
