I'm in the process of pulling the manifold but this thing does not want to come off is there a trick on how to do this?

Long-installed intake manifolds can be quite "sticky". First, try tapping on the ends with a rawhide, platic, or rubber mallet. This MAY break the seal and allow you to pull it off.
If that does not work, try VERY CAREFULLY wedging a chisel into the space on the manifold end, between the manifold and block, in the area of the end seal. As I say, do this very carefully so as not to damage the manifold or block. This will usually break the seal between the manifold and the gaskets. Then, you can pull the manifold off.
Now comes the REAL hard part----removing the gasket remnants from the cylinder heads and manifold. My recommendation is to use Permatex Spray Gasket Remover. Let it soften the gasket and then scrape. You will need to do this several times to get it all. You must remove ALL of the gasket material before re-installing the manifold. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Just did this today. Had the same problem. I got mine off by putting a wooden hammer handle in the carb hole and rocking it side to side. That broke it loose.- Top
