C3 (72) WIPERS

Helow to all. I need some help trying to find a wind shield wiper vacuum solenoid. It is the one that goes under the dash up by the instoment cluster. Can any one help.

This part, GM #5638276, was discontinued in May, 1997. It is quite difficult to locate in NOS form, although they do show up on eBay from time-to-time, usually selling for Big $$$. You might locate one from a used source like Pacific Corvette or Paragon Vintage. Dr. Rebuild used to have some NOS ones, but he's out now.

If you have a solenoid, you might be able to repair it. If it clicks but does not operate, try using a good penetrant oil to free it up. Let it soak for a couple of days. Try operating it again. If still stuck, tap it rather hard a couple of times. I have gotten several to operate again using this procedure.
