Patrick,
Not to shed any negative context here, but I have heard of high dollars cars trading hands with no title information as a means of laundering drug money. Cash converted to cars and then back to cash, with no names ever appearing on the title of the intermediate owners. Its interesting how many drug busts yield high dollar, rare Corvettes (as in the famous '69 ZL-1 case).
