GOOD FOR YOU, Dave!!
Hey, I don't do rain. But I've been out in my '63 (as some have seen here) numerous times since Christmas up here in the snowy Northeast. A lot of folks don't understand that 1) there are days in winter when the conditions could not be better for a drive 2) like us, these old machines need exercise and 3) unless you live in the sun belt, winter storage is a slow death for a car, wrought with many nasty things.
There, I've vented, and I feel better.
So, Dave, I seem to have missed your Performance Verification pic!!

Re: GOOD FOR YOU, Dave!!
I don't do rain on purpose, but around here, you have to take a chance if you want to get out. There were only three dry days in January this year! I'm hoping February is better.

I don't get the towel thing either. There was no water in the car. Am I missing a joke here? I hate being the newbie.
It has a 4.11 rear axle. I may well have been in 4th. I don't remember. I was too busy trying to figure out how the heck to take a picture of both the interior and the outside view. I do know that in 4th gear I can get up to about 75-80 mph before I'm really Jonesin' for another gear.

Re: Out and about...
I'm sure mine's no different than others. It's probably because I haven't really driven it in rain for an extended period of time. Todays rain was only for about 10 minutes. One other time I did get some water on the rear deck lid, but that is because my hardtop plexiglass is not seated correctly (I hope to get that fixed soon).
I do carry a towel in the glove compartment, but today the only thing I used it for was to get bird s**t off the car. Damn birds.

I was driving along Alki beach the same day...
Recognize your flight plan: N. on 99, over the viaduct and onto Western Ave. I usually make that loop from/back to W. Seattle just to get up to highway speeds for a few minutes beore I nose 'em (66BB, 69SB) back into the garage. Always have to dodge rain squalls this time of year - or not sweat gettin' wet.- Top
