    midyear metal plates-- underbody

I checked the Technical manual for the 67's, and it is somewhat vague with regard to the correct finish for the underbody reinforcement/ nut plates. It seem that the rear seat nut plates are supposed to be natural, how about the front ones? Natural or black paint?

    Re: midyear metal plates-- underbody

    Brandon,

I was always under the impression that those were that "green-zinc-di-chromate" (or whatever that stuff is) same as the birdcage, etc. At least that's what I remember from my former 66. But after looking at the ones under my 67 I couldn't find a trace of the stuff on them. What little bits I did find looked like black paint, on the back plates as well as the front. Mine are unrestored. Hope this will help. TBarr #24014

      Re: Correction

      Brandon,

After a closer, second inspection my rear (underbody) seat belt mounting plates are definitely natural, and the front are definitely black. TBarr #24014

        Re: Oops...

That should read "rear (underbody) seat mounting plate". Not seat BELT mounting plate. Maybe if I work at this long enough I'll get it right. TBarr #24014
